Here’s a story you’re bound to “Like”: According to a study published on Monday in the Proceedings of the Natural Academy of Sciences, using Facebook can increase your lifespan. Researchers found that subjects who received lots of Facebook friend requests were far less likely to die in a two-year span than their relatively friend-hungry counterparts. “We find that people with more friends online are less likely to die than their disconnected counterparts,” the study claims. “This evidence contradicts assertions that social media have had a net-negative impact on health.” No word yet on whether Twitter trolls will conversely kill your will to live.
