Event Description:

South Florida, let's mobilize to help the Bahamas in the wake of Hurricane Dorian.  Bring your unused hurricane supplies to The Citadel, we will take care of the rest!

Now through Sunday, Sept. 22nd, The Citadel will serve as an additional drop site for the #BahamasStrong relief effort.

Bahamian government is looking for...

  • Water.
  • Ice.
  • Non-perishable foods.
  • Hygiene kits (tissue, toothpaste, tooth brushes, towels, tampons, sanitary napkins).
  • Cleaning supplies (bleach, mops, brooms, garbage bags, sponges, clothes pins).
  • Disinfectants.
  • Baby formula, bottles and supplies.
  • Jerry cans (plastic water bottles).
  • Beds, cots.
  • Blankets.
  • Portable toilets.
  • Flashlights.
  • Batteries.
  • Mosquito repellent (DEET-free).
  • Cooking utensils.
  • Temporary housing.
  • Tarpaulins.
  • Plastic sheeting.
  • Plywood.
  • Roof shingles.
  • Generators.
  • Chain saws.
  • Shovels.
  • Disposable plates and eating utensils.
  • Power banks.
  • Solar-powered chargers.
  • Portable radios (battery or crank).
  • Cloth bags or biodegradable bags.
  • First aid kits (bandages, gauze and tape).


We will be collecting donations in the main hallway of The Citadel, located at 8300 NE 2nd Avenue Miami, FL 33138.
